Journey to the "camp".

posted by tristan @ 11/10/2006 10:51:00 AM

I guess some of my friends or colleagues in camp must have heard about the incident whereby the bus driver on bus 168 did not pay much attention to his driving on a particular morning. He missed the Jalan Kayu stop and headed straight towards Woodlands on TPE/SLE. Poor Mr Tristan, was raging when he realised, on board with fellow camp mates. I was already running late, thus have to take a cab to camp in state. With such careless driving attitude, on par with the inflated public transportation fare, I'm left with no other choice but to complain about the service that's uncalled for.

After 1 and half months of investigation, I finally received a feedback from their Deputy Director for Corporate Communication, as follows:

Mr Tristan Fu

Dear Mr Fu

Feedback on Bus Captain - Service 168
1. We refer to your feedback we received on 27 September 2006.

2. We regret to learn that our bus captain of Service 168 had plied the wrong route on 27 September 2006. Please accept our sincere apologies for the incident.

3. Following your feedback, the bus captain was called up for investigation. He explained that he had missed the exit into Jalan Kayu that attributted to this incident. He was apologetic of the incident and has since promised to be more alert when driving.

4. Nevertheless, the manager-in-charge has since counselled him on the importance to be familiar with the routings of the service he is assigned to and to seek clarifications when in doubts. His performance will be closely monitored.

5. On a goodwill basis, we would like to send you five complimentary ride tickets for your use on our bus service. Each ticket entitles you to a complimentary ride of maximum fare on any of our SBS Transit scheduled bus services within the validity period. Please let me have your mailing address so that we can send the tickets to you.

6. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Yours sincerely

Connie Chua (Ms)
for Deputy Director
Corporate Communications
SBS Transit Ltd

Actually I don't really understand how the complimentary ticket works. Anyway, hope all the bus driver will learn a lesson - Don't mess with Bus No. 168 passengers. There's simply no turning back once he missed that flyover stop at Jalan Kayu. And it could result in more complimentary tickets for commuters like us. lol.
